Standard 3 Days boracay

I have no Idea what forced me to go to Boracay for a few days, but it was a nightmare. The beach was great (at least the bit which was still visible, due to thousands of asian tourists).

I arrived with my HoneyKo at station 3 and we were picked up by the daughter of our land-lady. I contacted her in advanced and for 1.500 Peso we had a cottage a bit back, but nice w/fan and moskitonet.

Next morning we had a nice breakfast prepared by Cyntia, the good soul of the place. After that we went to the beach. Got surrounded by vendors and Koreans. We couldn't figure out what was worse.

After an hour or so we decided to look for a hotel-pool. We found one but needed to pay 350 peso "entrance Fee" 200 of them consumable. It was a nice poolare, but not allowed to bring any drinks inside the Hotel are that we needed to pay 50 !!! peso for a small bottle of water .
With this prices it was clear for us that we went out for lunch and dinner.

We did the same for two days, just interrupted with one dive. I still don't know why we did the dive, but it must be the most boring divespot in the Philippines.

When we left Boracay, HoneyKo was sad and I was totally Happy to go. I will never understand why Philippinas love that Island. there is nothing to do, nothing to see, and I saw better beaches in the Philippines. Same white but not overcrowded and overpriced.

At least she was happy...

Thanks for your Report.
I had similar experience there with the small difference I was alone...

You went there obviously also during the chinese-New year period, what makes Boracay "a bit" crowded. When you go diving in Boracay you want to go on one of the offered daytrips or to Yapak.

Why do Philippinas like Boracay? hmm, no Idea, why do they like Jolibee ...

cheers

If Diving is not your main recreational activity and you avoid the asian holidays Boracay is a great place to bring your Honey-Ko for a few days.

It is a bit more expensive than other places in the Philippines but you also find better food selection and a bit higher standard.

That might be an important point if you are not that familiar with the Philippines and go there for the very first time.

I liked it a lot there, but was in Boracay in September. The weather was good and the diving ok... not like PG but way above the Red Sea.

Additional way more friendly people and awesome beach

I also loved Boracay, it is an absolute Paradise. For our western Standard still cheap. The beach is simply fantastic and the resorts and restaurants good.

I will go there again
