Atlantis Beach Resort, Dumaguete - something goes wrong there

2004 ??? Rhoody was working there at that time. He let a course slide through ??? sounds almost to unreal to be true. When have you bee there?

I was at Atlantis PG and Dumaguete in October 2005. I guess it is the same Rudy/Rhoody.
He gave us some strikt rules and after one day and some beer he relaxed a bit. We had a great week and the combination of the two places is great for a two week trip to Asia. It was our first one and we went to Komodo last year. The Philippines is again on the list for next year ... If the dollar gets stronger again.

I only been reading this thread just now. Rhoody seem to be unhappy about something with a particular resort. I wonder what the resort like when he was working there. If he was doing a great job why would the management will stop him (as Rhoody said) from working? One day i will try diving in dumaguete.

I will not judge if I did a good or bad job, but I am sure I did a SAFE job.
And I will not talk about any "backstage" things going on, as I am Pro enough not to do so.
Atlantis Dumaguete is for sure the best planned Resort in Dumaguete and the facilities state of the art for the Philippines. The money the owners put into Atlantis created a facility with a wonderful garden, a very good restaurant, a organised dive-shop with space, great customer oriented services, great SPA and and and....

That all has nothing to do with SAFETY and this is the only Point I am concerned and I will talk about

There are rules and outlines provided by Atlantis and the PADI-system (and Atlantis is a CDC) and I followed them, whether I like them or not. Stick to them or don't make any. (that might be my german attitude)
I still believe that the safety of guests (in and outside the water) should be highest priority.

No Problem with me, if a dive-operator runs another policy. There are operators in Dumaguete where 60 meters and beer between the dives are "normal", but those don't put huge banners up to explain things like 30m/100ft max, only non-deco-dives etc...

Surely there is no doubt about Your way of teaching Your Students Rhoody, but there are also some Black Sheep under us right?

Like I Guy I heard about in Egypt who died last Year in the Dive Spot "Blue Hole" north of Dahab.

He said he want to make 100 Meters that day with a Single Tank and Nitrox32
and he made his 100 meters, but he didn´t came back and left hsi Family behind.

there are idiots everywhere, 100 Meter on a single Tank sounds like a planned suicide.
One thing I wonder is, that he talked about the dive beforehand and the shop he was diving with did let him go ...
