The Lighthouse Reef is another dive site in Malaspascua, the tiny island located north of Cebu in the Central Visayas you don’t want to miss
The dive spot is very shallow compared to other dive spots in Malaspascua with a depth from 5 to 10 meters. During World War II a small Japanese landing craft carrying cement-bags was bombed and broke apart in 2 pieces. All rounded smooth rocks you can see there are actually the solidified cement-bags where the hazardous Blue Ringed Octopus and different species of sea horses can be found.

The best time for diving the Lighthouse Reef is in the late afternoon. The Dive Spot is one of the few places in the Philippines Mandarin Fish could also be seen regularly performing their mating dance.
Hermit Craps, Harlekin Sweetlips and pipefish can be also spotted at this for novice diver suitable, shallow dive-site.
Anyway, the Lighthouse Reef is a great dive-spot for divers of all levels to finish a day of diving in Malapascua.
